About Edward Sylvan


As CEO of Sylvan Entertainment Group, an independent film and marketing distribution corporation, Edward Sylvan oversees the firm’s operations, including raising capital and handling the company’s finances. Additionally, he negotiates film distribution contracts, as well as networking with other business professionals to acquire film products. Based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, Edward Sylvan started Sylvan Entertainment Group in 2007.

In his leadership role, Mr. Sylvan works to obtain the international and domestic rights of films with commercial appeal for viewing in movie theaters and additional markets, such as home video, airplanes/hotels, and cruise lines. Among his achievements, he negotiated the rights to distribute 26 episodes of The Judy Garland Show. Furthermore, he collaborated successfully for the rights to the award-winning 2011 Australian film, The Eye of the Storm.

Edward Sylvan earned a bachelor’s degree in business from York University. A community-minded individual, he supports the Vancouver chapter of the Face the World Foundation.
